Bay Area artist Bill Compton has been illustrating homes
for realtors and private individuals since 1979. His work has appeared in countless real estate ads and websites; in
addition, he provided illustrations for the book Starting Out, by realtor Dian Hymer (Chronicle Books, 1997).
Bill began his love affair with drawing and photography
at an early age. He attended Oakland's California College of Arts and Crafts, and in 1972 was awarded a Bachelor
of Fine Arts degree, specializing in Photography. After a short career as a house painter, he felt the need to
make better use of his talent and training. So he decided to try drawing houses rather than painting them.
That decision has resulted in the creation of more than 20,000 "house portraits" over the years.
In 1999 he introduced watercolor as an option to his
well-known pen and ink drawings, and his paintings quickly became popular. Always looking for new ways to improve and
enhance his craft, in 2008 he returned to his photographic roots. Now, in addition to drawings and watercolors,
he offers the service of real estate photography. Bill brings 30 years of experience to his drawings, paintings,
and photographs, and enjoys working with the real estate community. He looks forward to continuing his career well into
the new century.
